NAUTICAL CHRONICLESThese are the Nautical Chronicles; boating stories and related antics as presented by Captain Robert Brown. The Captain with his wife and First Mate, Louise, began their boating adventure in 1996 with a repossessed, 21’ Four Winns cuddy and with absolutely no boating experience. Their friends had taken them out for a boat ride one hot summer day, and they became 'infected'; they needed to 'get into boating'. Being from central Ohio, the Captain had grown up with a total lack of introduction to or interest in... Boats, boating or water. Swimming, for him, was 'staying alive in the water'. Fortunately for him, his First Mate had some experience; her father had always had a small boat near Salem Harbor in Massachusetts; she had always enjoyed their adventures together. There is nothing so much fun as doing something for the first time. These Nautical Chronicles tell the stories of first-time boaters beginning an adventure which appears to be unending; an adventure which is representative of so many others who have chosen boating as a pastime, a hobby, a thrill and a passion.Captain Robert Brown and his wife, and First Mate, Louise continue their boating adventures out of Cove Marina on the Merrimack River in Salisbury, Massachusetts. They live, in the off season, by the sea, at North Beach in Hampton, New Hampshire. In 2004, Bob successfully completed the U.S. Coast Guard examination and received his 100-ton Master’s license. Since then, he and his mates have traveled the near-coastal waterways from Ft. Lauderdale to Bar Harbor including three bare boat adventures in the British Virgin Islands and one in the South of France.Visit them at: www.nauticalchronicles.com READER COMMENTS:Lisa C.: 'Characterization is one of the most important elements of any successful story. I always love it when I leave a story feeling like I know the characters. This is true for your prose. So many authors rush through their stories without really developing them. Not you. Your book read like a movie in my mind. You have crafted a quality piece of writing. Bravo!'Lynne B.:'Nice job! I can relate to some of the more hair-raising adventures we’ve had boating, but most of all, the great memories we have made with our family and friends...looking forward to more!'Martha S.:'Terrific!!! Very fun to read...I could hear you telling the story Capt. Bob!!!'Jenn K.:'Published at last!!! Good for you; look forward to more tales of 'trips of epic proportions' as told by The Captain and First Mate!'Brian H.:'A wonderful read and a kindle in all of us who share our lives with the sea, loved ones, family and friends...'Peter M.:'Another hilarious installment of the adventures of Nautical Chronicles! Thank you so much! I’m going out to purchase my toilet seat today for my next trip to France.'Betsy M.:'You’re ALL Nuts!! Hilarious!'Lynn Z.:'Hilarious. Your story telling is of ancient lore. You crack me up!'
