Loisy reflects on the nature of faith, the authority of the institution, and the personal cost of intellectual integrity. As a significant historical document, 'My Duel With the Vatican' is essential reading for those interested in the history of religion, the evolution of modern theology, and the enduring tension between tradition and critical inquiry.
