Sprachliche Schwierigkeiten und kulturbedingte Sichtweisen erschweren die medizinisch-pflegerische Versorgung dieser Patientengruppe. Probleme durch das unterschiedliche Verständnis von Krankheit und Gesundheit, des Umgangs miteinander in Bezug auf Besuch von Angehörigen im Krankenhaus, Kommunikationsschwierigkeiten, Schamgefühl und Intimsphäre, Speisevorschriften und Esskultur, Hygienevorschriften, die Einstellung zu Leben und Tod sind keine Seltenheit. Um Mehrfachuntersuchungen aufgrund erschwerter Erhebung von Anamnesen, lückenhafte Umsetzung von Therapieempfehlungen, Ablehnung von Rehabilitationsmaßnahmen, längere Verweildauer im Krankenhaus, wiederholte Behandlungen, mangelnde Compliance des Patienten und höhere Behandlungskosten zu vermeiden, werden in diesem Buch Anregungen zu Lösungsvorschlägen im Umgang mit muslimischen Patienten angeboten.
