Cette étude, menée à l’Université de Kinshasa, évalue l’efficacité du bouturage et de la transplantation de Bambusa vulgaris Schrad. L’objectif est de valider cette espèce comme Solution fondée sur la Nature (SfN) pour restaurer les sols dégradés par l’érosion ravinante en République Démocratique du Congo, tout en offrant des services écosystémiques essentiels aux communautés. La méthodologie s’est articulée en deux phases complémentaires. En pépinière, 10 000 boutures ont été suivies sur trois mois pour mesurer le taux de reprise, le diamètre et la hauteur des tiges sur divers substrats. Ensuite, 300 plants ont été transplantés durant six mois selon la technique des murailles vertes, afin d’analyser l’émergence des turions, l’élongation racinaire et le développement aérien. Les résultats en pépinière révèlent un taux de reprise exceptionnel de 93 %, soit 9 300 réussites sur 10 000 boutures, tandis que le groupe témoin atteint 93,7 %. L’analyse temporelle montre que le pic d’enracinement et de reprise survient au 12ᵉ jour. Côté croissance, les plants témoins atteignent une hauteur moyenne de 95,13 cm contre 91,02 cm pour ceux élevés sur substrats variés, accompagnés d’un élargissement significatif du diamètre au fil du temps. Après la transplantation sur le terrain, les observations confirment une corrélation positive et significative entre le temps et l’émergence des jeunes pousses, totalisant 5 turions par plant après 180 jours. L’élongation racinaire et le développement en hauteur présentent également des variations statistiques significatives au fil du temps, attestant d’une excellente acclimatation des végétaux. En conclusion, Bambusa vulgaris démontre une remarquable capacité de régénération végétative et une forte plasticité sur différents substrats. Grâce à son système racinaire fixateur et sa croissance rapide, cette espèce constitue un outil stratégique pour lutter contre l’érosion ravinante, piéger le carbone et renforcer la résilience écologique des populations en RDC.
