Climate study appears to be closely related to the environment studies. In a degrading environment climate conditions, particularly changing situation happens to be of a great concern for sustainable future. In this context the book has been written understanding the tenets of underlying principles and processes of global climate. In Chapter 1 the basics of weather and climate have been outlined. Chapter 2 deals with the role of solar energy as the driver of generating climate. Chapters 3, 4 and 5 elaborate the resultant processes that shape the weather and climate with our earth systems. These chapters explain the motion in the atmosphere, role of moisture in the atmosphere and air-mass movements. Chapter 6 traces the causes of weather disturbances and Chapter 7 narrates the climatic anomalies on a global space. Chapter 8 exposes the debate on global warming and Chapter 9 traces the climate change with reference to paleo-climate and glacial epochs. In Chapter 10 the relationship of climate with the ecosystem has been discussed. Subsequently in Chapter 11 habitats for diseases are identified with climate conditions. No study would be complete without understanding the classification of the system. In Chapter 12 the various climatic classifications and their genesis have been discussed.
