In den letzten Jahrzehnten hat das Interesse an der Erforschung von Heilpflanzen und ihrer traditionellen Verwendung in verschiedenen Teilen Indiens durch Stammesangehörige oder indigene Gemeinschaften zugenommen. Die vorliegende Studie befasst sich mit der Aufzählung medizinisch wichtiger einheimischer Pflanzen, die zu verschiedenen Familien gehören und häufig von den lokalen Gemeinschaften des Meja tehsil des Distrikts Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, zur Behandlung verschiedener Krankheiten wie Hautkrankheiten, Diabetes, Schwäche, Erkältung und Husten, Giftbisse, Durchfall, Asthma, Fieber, rheumatische Schmerzen, Mundkrankheiten, Frakturen, Gelbsucht und Tuberkulose usw. verwendet werden. Während der Studie wurden 98 Personen (55 männliche und 43 weibliche) kontaktiert, um mehr über die einheimischen Pflanzen zu erfahren, die für medizinische Zwecke verwendet werden. Diese Informationen müssen für weitere Bioprospektion und kommerzielle Aktivitäten getestet und validiert werden.
