In diesem Buch werden die Ergebnisse einer Untersuchung zur mathematischen Kompetenz in Flussuferschulen im Amazonasgebiet vorgestellt. Ziel war es, theoretische und methodische Ansätze für das Lehren und Lernen von Mathematik im Zusammenhang mit mathematischer Kompetenz zu untersuchen, die in Klassen mit mehreren Klassenstufen in Schulen am Flussufer im Amazonasgebiet eingeführt werden könnten. Aus dieser Perspektive wurde die Vision der mathematischen Alphabetisierung unter Berücksichtigung der anfänglichen Lese- und Schreibfähigkeiten des Kindes in der mathematischen Schulsprache, aber auch als ein Weg zum Lernen in der Welt der verschiedenen mathematischen Beziehungen konstruiert. Das Buch stellt Kontexte, Lehrmittel und pädagogische Praktiken in Schulen am Flussufer des Amazonas vor.
