La conception de produits intelligents utilisables est un effort multidisciplinaire qui nécessite la collaboration de personnes ayant des connaissances très diverses. Ce travail explore comment les maquettes de conception sont utilisées pour faciliter la collaboration. La littérature suggère le concept d’objet limite analytique comme théorie pour expliquer comment les maquettes soutiennent l’intégration des connaissances dans la collaboration en matière de conception. En m’appuyant sur des données recueillies au cours d’un projet de développement de produit d’une durée d’un an, je discute des limites du concept d’objet frontière et propose un concept alternatif qui explique mieux comment les maquettes agissent comme un échafaudage pour la création d’une compréhension partagée.
