Da die Größe der Schiffe ständig zunimmt und die Größe der Wasserstraßen im Allgemeinen langsamer zunimmt, gewinnt die Vorhersage des Schiffsmanövrierens in flachen Gewässern in der internationalen wissenschaftlichen Gemeinschaft immer mehr an Bedeutung. Das Schiffsverhalten in flachen Gewässern ist relevant für die Auswirkungen des Meeresbodens, die zu einer Veränderung der auf ein Schiff wirkenden hydrodynamischen Kräfte führen. In dieser Studie werden die Manövriereigenschaften eines Containerschiffs mit vier Freiheitsgraden in flachen Gewässern analysiert. Der Reynolds-Averaged Navier Stokes Ansatz im Ansys Fluent Code wird verwendet, um die Manövrierkoeffizienten durch die Simulationen von Vorwärtsfahrt, statischer Drift, statischer Krängung, Kreisbewegung, der kombinierten Bewegungen und der reinen Rollbewegung des KRISO Containerschiffs zu erzeugen. Die Manövriereigenschaften des Schiffes werden geschätzt, um das Verhalten des Schiffes in flachen Gewässern zu bewerten.
