Maṣādir Tārīkh al-Ṣomāl wa Marājiʿahu. ʿAraḍ wa Naqad: This book tackles the most important issues faced by researchers of Somali history, which is the difficulty of knowing the sources and references of Somali history due to the scattering of those sources and references and the lack of a guide or helper to point to them. Hence, the book sheds light on this area and provides researchers with a great service that fills this gap in a country that has completely collapsed and in which all the fundamentals and foundations of research have been lost, hoping it would be a guide for researchers of the history of the Horn of Africa region in its different eras, especially since it is considered the first book in Arabic - at least - to have this title and see the light. هذا الكتاب يعالج أهم المشاكل التي تواجه الباحث في التاريخ الصومالي، وهي صعوبة معرفة مصادر ومراجع تاريخ الصومال بسبب تبعثر تلك المصادر والمراجع وعدم دليل أو معين يدل عليها. ومن هنا فالكتاب يسلط الضوء على هذا المجال، ويقدم للباحثين خدمة جليلة تملأ ذلك الفراغ في دولة انهارت كلية، وانعدمت فيها جميع مقومات البحث وأسسه، عسى أن يكون دليلاً للباحثين في تاريخ منطقة القرن الأفريقي في عصوره المختلفة، لا سيما أنه يعتبر أول كتاب باللغة العربية - على الأقل - يحمل هذا العنوان ويرى النور.About Maʿallin:Dr Mohamed Hussein Muʿallin Ali was born in Mogadishu in 1964 where his primary and secondary education took place. Between 1987 and 1991 he did his undergraduate and masters degree on the history of Islam at Ummul Qura university, Mecca Saudi Arabia. He followed up with PhD thesis at al-Nīlayn university at Khartoum, Sudan. He did a further degree on teaching at University of Hamar, Norway. Dr Mu’allin has taught several higher learning institutions, board member and editor as well as contributor towards several academic journals, and has authored several books in various languages. Most popular of his authored works is: Diiwaanka Maansooyinka Abshir Bacadle (Sweden, 2014); Taariikhda Culimada Soomaaliyeed (Leicester, 2021). In Arabic he wrote the following: al-Thaqafat al-’Arabiyyaj wa Ruwaduha fi’l Somal (Cairo, 2011); Mu’jam al-Mu’allifin Al-Somaliyin fi’l ’Arabiyyah (Cairo, 2016); ’Abaqirat al-Qarn al-Ifriqi (Cairo, 2017); al-Madhab al-Shafi’i fi Bilad al-Somal (Cairo, 2020); al-’Alaqat Bayn al-Qarn al-Ifriqi wa’l ’Alam al-Khariji (Cairo, 2021). Dr Mu’allin currently lives in Norway with wife and children.
