The peaceful coastal town of Blessing Cove is suddenly in an uproar after near teenage abductions and the gruesome murder of their chief of police. Through it all Amanda is pursued by the new doctor in town but, afraid of further involvement, keeps him at arms length, much to the chagrin of her match-making friend, Meg. But the doctor waits patiently for the day when she will allow him to chase away the cloud of dark memories that has hung over her head for far too long.
