No que diz respeito às empresas, na presença de rendimentos crescentes à escala, a disponibilidade de infra-estruturas de transporte de boa qualidade melhora a sua produtividade, aumentando o alcance das economias externas (Venables, 2007). Abidjan, a capital económica da Costa do Marfim, e os seus arredores produzem 90% do valor acrescentado do sector transformador do país. Esta situação gera custos que afectam negativamente a produtividade destas indústrias. Convencidos de que o aumento dos investimentos em infra-estruturas de transporte tem um efeito significativo e positivo na produtividade, o objetivo do presente documento é estabelecer a relação entre as infra-estruturas de transporte e a produtividade industrial na Costa do Marfim.
