L’obiettivo principale di questa ricerca è stato quello di conoscere e analizzare le pratiche culturali dei bambini Guató del villaggio di Uberaba, situato nella regione del Pantanal di Corumbá, Mato Grosso do Sul, dove si trova la terra indigena Guató. La costruzione della conoscenza si è basata su una prospettiva contestualista, che ha cercato di descrivere etnograficamente le pratiche culturali dei bambini di un villaggio indigeno situato sull’isola di Ínsua, nella regione del Pantanal. Le pratiche culturali relative alla costituzione di un’identità culturale specifica del mondo infantile Guató sono state descritte attraverso l’esperienza di vita quotidiana dei bambini del villaggio di Uberaba, nel contesto dell’educazione indigena. Questo studio si è basato su una ricerca sul campo, che si è basata principalmente sui bambini stessi, attraverso l’osservazione diretta supportata da contributi di antropologia, educazione e psicologia sociale.
