Il lavoro è il prodotto di una tesi di laurea magistrale nell’area dell’Etica e della Filosofia politica, che si propone di dimostrare il rapporto tra i concetti hegeliani di Libertà, Stato e Religione. Il tema della libertà attraversa tutti i momenti della filosofia di Hegel, ed è in vista del raggiungimento di una libertà effettiva, piena e realizzata che è necessaria la presenza dello Stato, sostanza etica ultima che rende possibile il riconoscimento effettivo tra gli uomini, poiché, di fronte allo Stato, gli uomini hanno uguali diritti e doveri. Stato e religione devono procedere di pari passo, nel rispetto delle loro differenze, e ciascuno deve svilupparsi nel proprio ambito. La religione ha il compito di rafforzare e sostenere lo Stato. La religione permette anche di raggiungere la libertà effettiva; secondo Hegel, questo momento è possibile con il cristianesimo.
