La question est la suivante : si le mal ne tombe pas du ciel , s’il n’est donc pas donné par Dieu, pourquoi les partisans de l’EI sont-ils si brutaux ? Soit ils sont réellement fous, soit il faut les comprendre et les définir autrement. S’ils étaient fous, ils seraient des animaux sauvages et indomptables selon Schopenhauer. Nous ne devrions pas les accuser moralement. Ce que fait l’EI correspond à sa conception religieuse. Ses partisans croient en Dieu et qualifient leurs actes d’ actes pieux . Ainsi, par leur brutalité, ils croient suivre les commandements de leur Dieu. Cependant, il n’existe aucun passage clair dans le Coran qui autorise les musulmans ou les croyants à tuer et à torturer au nom de Dieu. L’EI se situe, dans sa conception religieuse, dans le cadre de cette morale. Cela ne correspond pas aux conceptions islamiques, chrétiennes, athées et autres de la morale. De nombreux auteurs d’attentats de l’EI rêvent encore, consciemment ou inconsciemment, du paradis et mènent pour cela la lutte contre leurs ennemis, comme d’autres extrémistes religieux avant eux.
