Cette recherche a étudié la transition d’un groupe d’enfants de l’éducation de la petite enfance à la première année de l’école primaire dans une école municipale de Mariana/MG, en soulignant l’importance du jeu dans ces deux modalités d’enseignement. Elle a cherché à mettre en évidence l’enfant en tant que sujet de la recherche et protagoniste des préoccupations théoriques présentées. L’approche d’inspiration ethnographique a permis d’accompagner le groupe d’enfants à différents moments de la routine scolaire. Le processus de construction et d’analyse des données obtenues dans le cadre de la recherche s’est basé sur les approches de la sociologie de l’enfance : Corsaro, 2005 ; Ferreira, 2004 ; Kramer, 2002, entre autres. Les données de recherche comprenaient des notes de terrain, des enregistrements vidéo, des enregistrements audio d’entretiens semi-structurés avec le personnel de l’école, des enregistrements vidéo avec un groupe de quinze enfants et des entretiens avec des groupes de discussion.
