Le développement du capital humain est une priorité pour l’Algérie qui est en voie de devenir un pays émergent. Pour la rentrée universitaire 2024-2025, l’Algérie a enregistré un nombre record d’inscriptions dans l’enseignement supérieur, avec 1 812 656 étudiants. Cette donnée, combinée au fait que près de 29 % de la population algérienne (estimée à plus de 47 millions d’habitants en 2025) a moins de 15 ans, souligne l’importance que le pays accorde à l’investissement dans le capital humain. L’enseignement supérieur se positionne comme un pilier essentiel pour relever les défis de l’Algérie, notamment en matière de développement durable et de transition vers une économie post-pétrolière. Les étudiants et les universités sont donc considérés comme des moteurs de développement pour le pays. Cependant, cet investissement massif dans l’éducation doit s’accompagner de politiques concrètes pour retenir ce capital humain au sein du pays. Il est crucial de mettre un terme à la fuite des cerveaux et de créer des conditions qui encouragent les diplômés à contribuer au développement de leur nation.
