Mais, malgré ces affirmations, Samuel Huntington considère la religion comme l’une des principales causes des guerres contemporaines. Cet ouvrage explore le rôle joué par les religions dans les conflits des Balkans et du Caucase et cherche à évaluer la validité de la théorie du choc des civilisations de Huntington dans ces guerres.
