This paper analyzes the situation of agricultural and pastoral land in the Tahoua region of Niger in relation to environmental conditions in a context marked by regional population growth of 4.6% in 2012. These conditions hamper the country’s efforts to combat food insecurity. It also analyzes land issues, specifically land reclamation programs and the strategies developed by stakeholders to ensure food security. It is based on a synthesis of field observations and field surveys. The survey conducted in 2010 covered 420 households in 20 villages selected using a reasoned sampling method and based on the demographic weight of eight (8) departments in the region. The objective was to measure the impact of land dynamics on the fight against food insecurity and poverty among women in the Tahoua region.
