Il marchio di lampadine più famoso del pianeta: OSRAM, che per oltre un secolo ha illuminato da incontrastato protagonista il mondo intero, nasconde in se una storia incredibilmente manipolata e contraffatta, cominciando proprio dal suo acronimo. Il suo nome, è stato spacciato per oltre 24 lustri, come la combinazione dei due metalli: OS-mium e wolf-RAM, componenti il filamento delle lampadine iscritte in Germania il 17 Aprile 1906 a Berlino, dal fisico austriaco-tedesco: Auer von Welsbach Karl, suo indebito inventore. In verità la OSRAM nacque in Italia, a Cremona, sul finire del 1800. Il suo significato identificava la vetraria posta sulla sponda sinistra del colatore Morbasco, adiacente una paludosa e maleodorante lanca, dai locali chiamata MARSO. Lì, vi costruivano le prime lampadine con filamento metallico in duttile tungsteno, mentre la vetreria affacciata sul MARSO, si identificava sulle carte topografiche leggendone il nome nel senso di marcia, ovvero al contrario, da destra verso sinistra: OSRAM.
