L’alimentation apparaît comme une source vitale pour tous les êtres humains. Tous les peuples de la terre ressentent le besoin de se nourrir à chaque instant. Ce qui nous amène à attester que l’alimentation est la chose la plus importante de l’existence humaine. C’est le cas des Abouré, un peuple vivant dans le sud de la Côte d’Ivoire (Pays de l’Afrique de l’Ouest). En effet, les Abouré ont développé depuis la nuit des temps des méthodes de production et de transformation alimentaires qui lui sont très propres. Leur système alimentaire est très original, car ils ont pu se nourrir jusqu’à nos jours en domptant la nature et en s’appuyant sur la générosité de leur milieu naturel. Leur organisation économique tournait essentiellement autour des activités comme la cueillette, le ramassage, la pêche, la chasse et surtout l’agriculture. ils ont pu par leur génie créatif transformer les produits issus des activités précédemment mentionnées pour leur alimentation quotidienne. C’est ainsi qu’on trouve en pays Abouré des aliments comme l’Attiéké, l’Atoukpou, le Placali, le koutoukou etc. dont les transformations se font en suivant des méthodes traditionnelles qui ont évolué dans le temps.
