This study focuses on Lagoa Maior, a lentic environment of great recreational, scenic, and social significance for the municipality of Três Lagoas/MS - Brazil. The limnological environment in which Lagoa Maior is located has been progressively suffering from anthropogenic changes. To verify the degree of damage that this occupation is causing, technical, physical, and chemical analyses were carried out at the site. The results found served as a basis for illustrating the actual degradation and developing mitigating actions for improvements aimed at sustainability and environmental bathing conditions.
