Lo scopo di questo studio è stato quello di rivedere l’artrite reumatoide (RA) e le sue alterazioni immunologiche, nel tentativo di comprendere il processo immunologico e il suo meccanismo fisiopatologico, il processo infiammatorio che colpisce le articolazioni portando a lesioni. Oggi, la preoccupazione di effettuare questa revisione della letteratura sull’AR è giustificata dai tassi di morbilità e mortalità. È necessario esplorare nuove materie prime esistenti e analizzare criticamente e approfondire gli studi sull’uso terapeutico della taurina nell’AR e gli studi sulle nuove prospettive di trattamento dell’artrite reumatoide basate sulla taurina. Alcuni ricercatori hanno sintetizzato la taurina e l’hanno studiata in modelli animali (ratti), dimostrando che inibisce le cellule di difesa dell’organismo innescate dagli antigeni e riduce le risposte immunitarie.
