Fruit d’une inquiétude face à la place occupée par les femmes dans les récits picaresques et malandres, cette étude examine la place et l’espace occupés par les femmes dans la picaresque classique, en établissant une opposition avec la représentation du féminin dans le roman picaresque Meu tio Atahualpa de Paulo de Carvalho Neto, publié pour la première fois au Brésil en 1978. S’appuyant sur les études de genre et la critique littéraire féministe, elle cherche à dévoiler, à travers l’analyse textuelle, la construction des images référentes au féminin, traçant ainsi l’espace que la femme vient occuper dans ce récit contemporain et sa signification pour la compréhension des nouvelles relations établies à partir de la structuration des études de genre.
