Le acque sotterranee rappresentano il 97% dell’acqua dolce mondiale e sono una delle principali fonti di acqua potabile e una risorsa essenziale per l’approvvigionamento idrico domestico e pubblico. La sua qualità determina il suo valore come risorsa e il modo in cui influisce sulle acque di superficie. Nonostante la crescente domanda di acque sotterranee, la loro qualità è minacciata da processi geogenici, caratteristiche geologiche, attività umane, estrazione e stoccaggio. Le acque sotterranee della pianura del Saïs sono la principale fonte di acqua potabile per la regione di Fès-Meknès (bacino del Saïs) in Marocco. Tuttavia, queste acque sono minacciate dall’eccessivo sfruttamento e dall’inquinamento locale. Questo lavoro rappresenta quindi un contributo alla valutazione della qualità fisico-chimica dell’acqua dell’acquifero di Saïs, misurando i parametri fisico-chimici e i metalli pesanti mediante la spettroscopia di assorbimento atomico e analizzandone la distribuzione spaziale.
