Ce livre analyse les stratégies marketing mises en œuvre par la RTNB depuis l’adoption de sa politique commerciale en 2011, dans un contexte de réduction du financement étatique. Après avoir présenté les notions clés de communication, médias et marketing, ainsi que l’historique et la mission de la RTNB, le travail examine les ressources matérielles et financières du média public. L’enquête menée auprès des responsables et agents du service commercial révèle une connaissance partielle des stratégies marketing et souligne le manque de moyens pour atteindre efficacement les clients, principalement en province. On constate également une faible harmonie entre la mission de service public d’informer et éduquer et les exigences d’une politique commerciale rentable. Les principales difficultés sont liées au manque de motivation, de formation, de matériel et à la concurrence des médias privés. Le livre conclut que si la RTNB dispose de stratégies marketing, elles sont mal exploitées en raison d’un cahier des charges qui priorise la mission publique sur le développement commercial, limitant ainsi l’autonomie et la performance financière du média.
