Les représentations symboliques dans l’œuvre romanesque de Malek Haddad. La littérature maghrébine est née durant une période bien précise de l’Histoire de l’Algérie, celle d’un pays colonisé par la France. C’est ce même contexte socio-historique qui a animé l’écriture de l’auteur engagé Malek Haddad, un auteur passionné par son pays. Son engagement n’était pas que politique, mais il l’a été aussi sur le plan littéraire puisque dans ses écrits, l’Histoire est présente sous toutes ses formes. Pour se démarquer des auteurs de langue française, il adopte un style bien particulier et choisit d’introduire dans ses textes, des mots et expressions du dialecte algérien. Chaque mot qu’il écrit est un symbole chargé de sens qui peut être explicite ou implicite et que le lecteur doit interpréter pendant sa lecture. Chacun de ses romans raconte une histoire différente, mais au fond, elles convergent toutes vers le même point, celui de dénoncer l’atrocité de la guerre sous toutes ses formes. Dans le but d’éviter la censure, il utilise plusieurs représentations symboliques pour s’exprimer. L’auteur n’hésite pas à faire recours aux différents moyens linguistiques qui lui permettent d’éveiller l’esprit de la population algérienne.
