Le développement de l’alphabétisation des adultes au Brésil a été fortement stimulé par les luttes démocratiques et populaires pour cet espace de participation démocratique - le droit d’apprendre. Au fil du temps, plusieurs mesures politiques et pédagogiques ont été adoptées, telles que la Campagne pour l’éducation des adolescents et des adultes, le mouvement MOBRAL, l’éducation complémentaire, jusqu’à aujourd’hui. Le présent travail cherche à observer ce processus historique, en insistant sur l’importance de la formation de l’éducateur de l’EJA pour un travail efficace. Dans ce sens, il sera fait usage d’un vaste matériel théorico-scientifique qui donnera plus de pertinence et de crédibilité aux affirmations exposées ici.
