La educación es un pilar fundamental para el desarrollo de la sociedad, y la investigación científica es esencial para mejorar las prácticas pedagógicas. Sin embargo, en la provincia de Santa Elena, se ha identificado una significativa carencia en la producción de investigaciones por parte de los docentes de educación general básica. Este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar las causas y consecuencias de esta falta de habilidades investigativas y proponer soluciones.Se destacan factores como la escasez de recursos tecnológicos, la falta de actualización profesional y la ausencia de una cultura colaborativa en la investigación. Estas deficiencias limitan la capacidad de los docentes para reflexionar sobre sus prácticas y contribuir a la innovación educativa. La falta de investigación también afecta su desarrollo profesional, generando estancamiento y desmotivación.Para mejorar esta situación, se sugiere implementar programas de formación continua en metodología de investigación y proporcionar recursos tecnológicos a las instituciones educativas, lo que fortalecería las competencias investigativas de los docentes en la región.
