Jahrhunderts. Einflüsse auf den Kontinent., 26 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: 1826 unternahm Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1781-1841)gemeinsam mit dem Leiter der 'Technischen Deputation' des preußischen Ministeriums für Handel, Gewerbe und Bauwesen, Christian Wilhelm Peter Beuth (1781-1853), eine Reise nach England, um die neuesten technischen und industriellen Errungenschaften der Engländer zu erkunden. Den Auftrag zu dieser Reise erhielt Schinkel von König Friedrich Wilhelm III. mit dem offiziellen Ziel, Anregungen für die Innenraumgestaltung des damals gerade im Bau befindlichen „Alten Museums' in Berlin zu gewinnen. Schinkel selbst erhoffte sich von der Tour durch England wohl ganz allgemein Impulse für neue architektonische Lösungen, besonders für die damals in Preußen neu entstandenen und entstehenden Bauaufgaben. In dieser Arbeit wird erörtert, inwieweit sich die Reise und die besichtigten Architekturen tatsächlich auf Schinkels architektonisches Schaffen ausgewirkt haben (könnten).
