Os jovens adolescentes parecem ter uma relação de dependência com a televisão, qualificada por alguns como intoxicação. O tempo dedicado à televisão é roubado do tempo que deveria ser dedicado aos estudos e invade o tempo reservado para outras atividades, incluindo encontros com os colegas, o que pode prejudicar a socialização... É isso que leva Wilbur Schramm a afirmar: Para algumas crianças, em determinadas condições, certos programas de televisão são prejudiciais.O presente trabalho de investigação de tipo exploratório tem vários objetivos: 1- Estudar o impacto da televisão na escolaridade dos adolescentes telespectadores; 2- Compreender o grau de modelagem das suas representações, bem como a impregnação do seu sistema identificatório sob o efeito dos ideais-tipo veiculados por este meio de comunicação social.
