O problema da inatividade infantil tem muitas repercussões na saúde geral e no bem-estar da juventude canadiana, bem como consequências negativas para o sistema de saúde financiado pelo Estado. Neste livro, descrevi algumas das medidas que o Governo de Alberta tomou para abordar a questão nas suas próprias escolas e salientei as deficiências da legislação atual. Além disso, apresentei ideias sobre o significado deste estudo, ao mesmo tempo que forneci algum contexto para a utilização de exergames de dança e ritmo num ambiente escolar. Por fim, redigi uma declaração de objectivos que transmitirá a intenção do estudo proposto, definindo claramente os limites entre as questões de investigação e o fenómeno central.
