Kiedy obejrzałam reportaż w niemieckiej telewizji ZDF (Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen) pt. „Niechciane córki Indii', w którym Rosi Gollmann pokazuje, jak indyjskie kobiety obwiniają się za narodziny dziewczynki, wywołało to we mnie ogromne poruszenie, niezrozumienie i współczucie. Jak to możliwe, że kobieta może być głęboko przekonana, że to ona ponosi wyłączną winę za narodziny córki? Dwukrotnie pojechałam do Madurai. Pierwszy raz w celu zbadania języka wizualnego, który jest tematem tej pracy, a drugi raz w zeszłym roku, aby na miejscu przedstawić animację za pomocą tabletów cyfrowych. Obecnie animacja jest pokazywana w wielu wioskach przez pracowników Andheri i pomaga kobietom zrozumieć proces określania płci podczas zapłodnienia.
