It’s in my blood, is a gripping crime novel, that follows the life of D’Anthony Deangelo, the estranged son of Atlanta drug kingpin Antonio Deangelo. Raised in the notorious Robert Taylor homes and the Englewood neighborhoods in Chicago. D’Antony grew up surrounded by violence, poverty, and the harsh realities of street life. Despite never knowing his father, he inherits Antonio’s ruthless instincts and criminal cunning, carving out his own path in the underworld. When fate finally brings father and son together after three decades, D’Anthony is forced to confront the legacy he never asked for but can’t escape. As he navigates betrayal, power struggles, and the weight of his family name. He must decide whether to embrace his bloodline or defy it. A raw and unflinching exploration of crime, family, and destiny. It’s in my blood delves into the choices that define us and the inescapable pull of the streets. D’Anthony Deangelo, raised by his great grandfather whose originally, from Alabama, took to the streets at an early age as 9 as a look out for the local Gangster Disciples crew, while they sold their drugs. By the age of 12 and 13 him and his cousin Brandon start being drop off and delivery workers for the gang. Taking drugs like Crack cocaine, cocaine, and heroin to drug addicts and customers. When one of the customers tried to intimidate D’Anthony that’s when he killed his first person after the 2nd addict tried him. By age 15 D’Anthony was a full-blown trapping, drug dealing, hustling gangster disciple. By the age of 16 D’Anthony gets shot by the police and catches a possession of narcotics and firearm case, and he got locked up in a juvenile facility a year for those charges. After his release he connected with his Dominican girlfriend’s father in which was a big drug dealer, who sold wholesale Cocaine and heroin, and was a member of a Dominican gang who came from New York City. D’Anthony branched off from the GD’s and started his own splinter crew called the 'MGD' Money gang disciples, because the leaders of their branch of Gangster Disciples refused to avenge the death of his friend Marco, because without D’Anthony’s knowledge, the leaders are the Murderers of his friend. A confrontation between D’Anthony’s friend, who was running a trap house for D’Anthony, and some of D’Anthony’s old crew, led to them robbing D’Anthony’s friend, to D’Anthony finding the robbers and murdering them in retaliation for the robbery of the trap house and his friend. On the advice from D’Anthony’s great grandfather he moved down south, to Birmingham, Alabama with his mother and Narcotic Detective husband. D’Anthony got put out of the house and moved in with his uncle. He met another Gangster Disciple through his uncle and the two became good friends and drug dealing partners. When one of their associates gets jealous when they didn’t include him in there newly formed alliance of Money Gang Disciples, he betrayed them by breaking into D’Anthony’s friends’ home and his friend’s father’s and D’Anthony’s uncle’s home, looking for his money and drugs. For that betrayal D’Anthony and Jessie Murders their ex-friend and some more people. Ultimately D’Anthony, in defense of his self-got into a shootout with some of the victims’ family members and friends and ended up killing one of them and maiming the other one. He ended up going to Alabama prison system, where he continued selling drugs and running his gang from the inside. After a somewhat volatile of emotions, between D’Anthony and his mother, during a prison visitation, D’Anthony goes back in the prison to learn that some guys had stolen his drugs, from a stash spot. With the revelation of who the thieves were, Antonio and crew confront them, and a big fight jumps off and D’Anthony stabs a guy up, who was responsible. While in lock up D’Anthony gets a lawyer and finally gets his freedom through the court system. Once free he tries to go straight, by working a legal job.
