This book takes a look at the history of ethnic bias beginning in 1137 when Geoffrey of Monmouth in a book of myths entitled, History of the Kings of Britain, identified the Anglo-Saxons as the best people in Britain based on their character and behavior. although that claim of the best was a myth, the Anglo-Saxons continued to promote it. Over several hundred years, the claim of superiority expanded to include the ruling class of males in Europe. The supremacy was not based on skin color or geography until the Europeans began their explorations and subsequent colonization of non-Christian and non-European countries.This book follows the development of the concept of ethnic bias through popular publications that served to underscore and support the myth of European Supremacy. The word race was invented to mean subspecies because the Anglo-Saxons and Europeans made the claim of representing the species of Homo sapiens. Therefore, all non-European people were inferior to them.This book examines the impact that the confusion of race and ethnicity has had on America and how efforts to preserve the myth has taken on drastic measures by proponents of the myth.
