Ce livre traite de l’isolement et de l’utilisation des cellules souches chondrogéniques de la pulpe dentaire pour des applications de médecine régénérative et d’ingénierie tissulaire. Les cellules souches se transforment en n’importe quel type de cellules pour former les différents types de tissus du corps humain. Les cellules souches chondrogéniques peuvent être isolées à partir de la pulpe dentaire, qui est le tissu mou situé au centre des dents. Ces cellules souches, souvent appelées cellules souches de la pulpe dentaire (CSDP), ont le potentiel de se différencier en divers types de cellules, y compris les chondrocytes (cellules formant le cartilage). Le processus d’isolement implique généralement l’extraction du tissu de la pulpe dentaire à partir de dents extraites, suivie d’une digestion enzymatique pour libérer les cellules souches. Une fois isolées, les DPSC peuvent être cultivées et induites à se différencier en chondrocytes, ce qui en fait une source prometteuse pour la régénération du cartilage et les applications d’ingénierie tissulaire. Cette approche exploite les propriétés régénératrices de la pulpe dentaire pour traiter des affections telles que les lésions du cartilage ou l’arthrose.
