THE OTHER BRAIN Have you ever wondered why your gut seems to communicate things to you-or even to others? I argue that this is not merely the work of helpful bacteria. If you examine it closely, you will find that it is not microbes growling within you, nor some accidental noise. It is something spiritual, a presence from another realm, conjoined with you and speaking through you.We have misnamed this phenomenon. What many call the 'gut brain' is not simply a microbiome. It is far more sophisticated, far more intentional. I believe we have mistaken the supernatural for bacteria, confusing what is otherworldly with what is natural. This second brain is not a colony of helpful organisms-it is a Monster that should never dwell within us.I am not speaking of the microbiomes that process food, but of the faculty that generates emotions, orchestrates head shakes, leg movements, facial gestures, and other signals. This is not a gut microbiome at all, but the mind of another creature. It is the mind of the prince of the power of the Air.
