Il recettore del fattore di crescita epidermico (EGFR) è in fase di studio come bersaglio terapeutico per i tumori. Le linee cellulari del cancro del colon dipendono in modo variabile dalla stimolazione autocrina dell’EGFR. Questo libro, pertanto, esamina gli effetti di un inibitore selettivo della tirosina chinasi EGFR, Gefitinib ('Iressa', ZD1839), sulla proliferazione e la sopravvivenza delle linee cellulari del cancro del colon la cui proliferazione autonoma è dipendente dal ligando EGFR o indipendente dal ligando EGFR. Le conseguenze aiutano a capire la natura della chinasi del fattore di crescita epidermico e come inibire il segnale intra ed extracellulare. Le proprietà in silico facilitano la progettazione più efficiente delle biblioteche di screening e servono come base per numerosi profili di composti ADME e per la valutazione delle capacità dei farmaci lungo la catena del valore della scoperta del farmaco. Aiuta anche a fermare lo sviluppo del cancro; una nuova linea guida per la progettazione degli inibitori.
