Para la conceptualización de la investigación cuantitativa partiremos de la definición de investigación que según Hernández y Mendoza (2018), indica es un 'conjunto de procesossistemáticos críticos y empíricos que se aplican al estudio de un fenómeno o problema con el resultado (o el objetivo) de ampliar su conocimiento' (p. 4)La investigación cuantitativa es validada y aceptada por la ciencia, por cuanto se centra en la recolección y el análisis de datos numéricos para comprender y explicar fenómenos. La capacidad de este método para medir variables y utilizar estadísticas para evaluar y extrapolar resultados responde a su carácter distintivo.
