Dix ans après le point culminant de la grande récession, qui a débuté sur le marché américain des prêts hypothécaires à risque, l’économie mondiale peine encore à surmonter les conséquences de cet événement. Pour surmonter ces difficultés, il est nécessaire de comprendre les origines du phénomène qui a remis en cause certains postulats de l’économie orthodoxe, tels que l’efficience des marchés et la neutralité des monnaies. Ce livre part de l’idée que les difficultés subsisteront tant que les causes ne seront pas bien comprises. Selon l’approche proposée par l’auteur, ce n’est qu’en combinant les arguments marxistes et post-keynésiens que nous pourrons comprendre les causes et les proportions de la plus grande crise économique depuis la Grande Dépression. La recherche présentée dans ce texte vise à revisiter les principales interprétations de certains courants de pensée marxistes et post-keynésiens afin de proposer sa propre interprétation basée sur les points de convergence trouvés entre les différentes approches hétérodoxes.
