Die Entwicklung von interkultureller Kompetenz ist zu einem wesentlichen Element von Einwanderungsgesellschaften und einer globalisierten Wirtschaftswelt geworden. Weitgehend unerforscht war bisher, welche Faktoren in Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen diese Schlüsselqualifikation fördern können. Die auf Seminarmitschnitten basierende Forschungsarbeit „Interkulturelles Lernen als Gesprächsarbeit' zeigt auf, wie die Leiter und Leiterinnen sprechen, moderieren und intervenieren können, um bei den Teilnehmenden interkulturelles Lernen zu befördern. Kommunikative Strategien allgemeiner kulturreflexiver Deutungsarbeit werden dabei ebenso beschrieben, wie der konstruktive Umgang mit Lernhindernissen, z.B. Stereotypen oder Rassismen.
