Aufgrund des zunehmenden Orientierungsverlustes in der Gesellschaft bei gleichzeitiger Erweiterung der Grenzen auf globale Dimensionen ist Identitätsarbeit in der Kunst- und Kulturvermittlung ein wichtiger Ansatz. Gegenwärtige weltweite Prozesse stellen stets neue Herausforderungen für bildungs- und kulturpolitische Arbeit dar und fordern ein Mehr an interkulturellen Kompetenzen. Da kulturelle und sprachliche Unterschiede häufig keineswegs nur Vielfalt und kreative Potenziale bieten, sondern auch Barrieren darstellen, ist ein sinnlich-ästhetischer Lernvorgang einem sprachlich-rationalen vorzuziehen. Interkulturelle Projektarbeit gewinnt somit in der Kulturarbeit immer mehr an Bedeutung. Teresa Majewski leistet mit ihrer Studie einen innovativen Beitrag zur Erarbeitung von Potenzialen der ästhetischen Bildung in der interkulturellen Praxis. Hierbei betrachtet sie die Projektarbeit als eine Form selbsttätiger Partizipation und veranschaulicht ihre theoretischen Überlegungen anhand einer kritischen Reflexion eines kulturellen Praxisprojekts.Ferner setzt sie sich mit Interdisziplinarität eines Projekts als solcher auseinander und gibt einen Ausblick auf Kunst- und Kulturvermittlung als unabdingbaren Teil der zeitgenössischen Bildungslandschaft.
