Sie bieten einen diskursiven Raum für interdisziplinäre Debatten und sind ein Forum für empirisch fundierte und theoretisch elaborierte Reflexionen. Soziale Passagen enthalten in jeder Ausgabe einen Thementeil und ein Forum für einzelne Beiträge. Einen weiteren Schwerpunkt bilden Kurzberichte aus laufenden Forschungsprojekten. Die inhaltliche Qualität ist über ein peer-review-Verfahren gesichert. Soziale Passagen richten sich an Mitarbeiterinnen, Mitarbeiter und Studierende an Universitäten, Fachhochschulen und Instituten sowie an wissenschaftlich orientierte Leitungs- und Fachkräfte in der sozialpädagogischen Praxis.
