In dieser Studie wird die technische Ökonomie nachhaltiger Stromversorgungsketten untersucht, wobei Umwelt-, Sozial- und Governance-Belange (ESG) sowie Überlegungen zur Energiegerechtigkeit einbezogen werden. Mithilfe eines gemischten Methodenansatzes wurden in der Studie 500 Energieprojekte in 50 Ländern über einen Zeitraum von 10 Jahren analysiert. Zu den wichtigsten Ergebnissen gehören: (1) erneuerbare Energien erreichen in 80 % der Märkte Kostengleichheit mit fossilen Brennstoffen; (2) Projekte mit hohem ESG-Anteil weisen 15 % höhere Renditen auf; und (3) Projekte mit hohem Energieaktienanteil weisen 23 % niedrigere Stornoraten auf. In der Studie wird ein integrierter Rahmen vorgeschlagen, der traditionelle ökonomische Metriken mit ESG- und Aktienfaktoren kombiniert. Monte-Carlo-Simulationen zeigen ein geringeres Risikoprofil für erneuerbare Energien, während Zeitreihenanalysen weitere Kostensenkungen erwarten lassen. Die Studie unterstreicht die Notwendigkeit ganzheitlicher Ansätze in der Energieplanung, die eine ausgewogene Berücksichtigung wirtschaftlicher, ökologischer, sozialer und Governance-Faktoren zur Erreichung nachhaltiger und gerechter Energiesysteme vorsehen.
