Este volumen reúne las informaciones matrimoniales tramitadas en Monteros entre 1814 y 1860, conservadas en el Archivo del Obispado de la Santísima Concepción del Tucumán. Estos expedientes, previos al matrimonio, permitían comprobar la libertad de estado y la inexistencia de impedimentos de parentesco; cuando existía vínculo familiar, se declaraba el parentesco y se solicitaba dispensa episcopal. De gran valor histórico y genealógico, estos documentos ofrecen una visión precisa de la vida social y familiar del Tucumán del siglo XIX. El trabajo se basa en los apuntes de Jorge Colominas y Juanita de Conde, cuya labor permitió conservar esta información, y constituye la primera parte de un proyecto que continuará con la publicación de los expedientes restantes del siglo XIX, completando la serie documental y poniéndola al alcance de investigadores y del público interesado en la historia regional.La Fundación Fuentes Históricas y Genealógicas del Tucumán tiene como propósito preservar, estudiar y difundir el patrimonio documental e histórico del Noroeste Argentino, fortaleciendo la identidad y la memoria de sus pueblos.
