Lo studio si proponeva di analizzare gli effetti dei prezzi dei materiali da costruzione e della manodopera sul tasso di sviluppo delle abitazioni ad Abuja. A tal fine, sono stati raccolti dati quantitativi utilizzando dati d’archivio e tecniche geospaziali che prevedevano l’uso del telerilevamento e del sistema informativo geografico (GIS) per determinare il tasso di sviluppo delle abitazioni nel corso degli anni. I risultati della ricerca hanno rivelato che le variazioni dei prezzi dei materiali da costruzione e della manodopera hanno un effetto sul tasso di sviluppo delle abitazioni con una media dell’85% per i materiali e del 99% per la manodopera nella variazione spiegata dai modelli. In conclusione, gli effetti risultanti hanno mostrato che i materiali e la manodopera sono buoni determinanti del tasso di sviluppo delle abitazioni. Sulla base dei risultati e delle conclusioni tratte, è emerso che qualsiasi variazione unitaria dei prezzi dei materiali da costruzione e della manodopera avrebbe un effetto sul tasso di sviluppo delle abitazioni. Lo studio fornisce modelli in grado di prevedere il tasso di sviluppo delle abitazioni nell’area di studio.
