Cette étude, intitulée 'Impact des médias sociaux sur les habitudes vestimentaires des étudiants de premier cycle : A Study of Benue State University, Makurdi', explore la manière dont les médias sociaux influencent les habitudes vestimentaires des étudiants de l’université de Benue State. S’appuyant sur la théorie de l’utilisation et de la gratification, l’étude révèle qu’en dépit d’une politique universitaire établie promouvant la moralité et la décence vestimentaire, les étudiants sont fortement influencés par les tendances vestimentaires occidentales observées sur les médias sociaux, en particulier sur des plates-formes telles que Facebook et WhatsApp. L’étude a montré que si les étudiants consultent souvent les tendances de la mode et les contenus éducatifs, ils sont plus fréquemment exposés à la mode et aux divertissements. L’ouvrage recommande de développer les sites de réseaux sociaux pour améliorer les activités académiques et d’organiser des ateliers pour aider les étudiants à utiliser les médias sociaux de manière positive à des fins éducatives plutôt que de se contenter de suivre les tendances de la mode.
