L’agriculture (entendue ici au sens des activités agrosylvopastorales dans leur globalité) a toujours représenté une composante majeure dans la transformation structurelle de l’économie camerounaise. Dans le document de Stratégie Nationale de Développement (SND) 2020-2030, le développement de la productivité et la production agricoles apparait comme l’un de piliers phares de la stratégie de développement du Cameroun pour la décennie à venir. Il est en effet attendu que le développement de la productivité et de la production agricole impacte positivement l’essor des agro-industries, contribuent à l’amélioration de la sécurité alimentaire, génère des revenus et des emplois supplémentaires dans l’économie. Disposer d’outils permettant de suivre l’évolution de l’activité dans ce secteur apparait dès lors comme un objectif de premier plan. L’Indice des Prix des Produits Agricoles à la Production (IPPAP), volet élevage répond à une telle préoccupation. Le présent document est un guide pratique de la mise en œuvre de l’IPPAP pour le volet élevage. Il est subdivisé en six (06) sections.
