'Infelizmente, a maioria dos EM permanece sem ser detectada, se o significado ou resultado clínico não afetar adversamente o paciente. Enquanto alguns dos EM também resultam em morbidade ou mortalidade grave e têm um impacto econômico significativo sobre o paciente e o sistema de saúde.
