Esta pesquisa objetivou melhorar as competências de prática profissional e o desenvolvimento de competências socioemocionais no curso de Engenharia de Produção da UDESC/CEPLAN estruturando a implementação da metodologia ativa Aprendizagem Baseada em Problemas (ABP), em um mês de aulas, na disciplina de Sistemas Produtivos. Foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica sistemática, compreendendo o período de 2015 a 2021, com busca nas bases de dados SCOPUS e Science Direct, resultando em análise e sistematização de 6169 artigos, que respaldou o referencial teórico deste estudo. Os partícipes da pesquisa compuseram um estudo de caso com 11 discentes da UDESC/CEPLAN, durante um semestre letivo do ano de 2020. Os resultados da aplicação da ABP foram obtidos por meio de um questionário estruturado e tratados com a Análise de Conteúdo. Concluiu-se que a estrutura proposta para a ABP foi efetiva quanto às etapas adotadas e que os estudantes aprimoraram com sucesso suas capacidades de resolução de problemas pelo desenvolvimento de competências socioemocionais, bem como relataram o ganho de competências profissionais ao participarem desta pesquisa.
